Do the kids know something we don’t?

A (rather hilarious) conversation I just had with my nearly-three-year-old about why I am dehydrating food.

Son: Why are you doing that to those potatoes?

Me: So that we will have food in case of an emergency.

Son: What emergency?

Me: I don’t know… like an earthquake?

Son: Or an ALIEN, or a ROBOT, or a GIANT MONSTER THAT WILL COME AND GET US?!

Me: Um….maybe?

Son: [gives me a  thumbs up] You’re doin’ good, Mom, you’re doin’ good.

Me: Thanks! {bahahahaha!}

…. Granted my child has an obsession with robots and is constantly talking about ghosts and monsters and I have NO IDEA WHY because I certainly don’t bring such things up- but who knows what they may be able to pick up peripherally from media sources? We do own a TV and several computers… maybe he got it from Sponge Bob?
